Reference Works Science of Synthesis/Houben–Weyl

Science of Synthesis is an entirely new edition, in English, of the classic Houben–Weyl Methods of Organic Chemistry, which has been the first point of reference for organic and organometallic synthetic strategies since 1909 and it is now available in print and electronic formats. Science of Synthesis is a quality reference work evaluated by a highly esteemed editorial board to provide a comprehensive and critical selection of reliable organic and organometallic synthetic methods. Methods from journals, book and patent literature from the early 1800’s are selected by leading chemists in the field.

Editorial Office:
What we do and why we do it –
We provide scientific researchers in industry and academia with chemical information (i.e., synthetic methodology) that is relevant and evaluated by experts. We use state-of-the-art technology and editorial techniques to enable published volumes to be online, be accessible and searchable in meaningful ways.

Who we are –
We are an international team of highly qualified PhD and BSc organic chemists. The team consists of nine full time employees and 19 freelance members currently. Permanent members of our team are based in Stuttgart, Germany and our freelance colleagues are based in Australia, Britain, Germany, and Sweden. Our mother language is English and many members of the team also speak German.

Career Path –
Progression within the editorial office is dependent on helping achieve business objectives using skills and abilities to a maximum. An individual’s contribution is what counts not the number of years of education or years of service. Individuals who find solutions, are innovative, cope with pressure, and strive to attain the highest professional standards in scientific publishing do very well within this working environment. Personal and professional objectives can be achieved while working with some of the finest minds in the chemical industry and also academia.
