Spring ACS 2003, New Orleans This year Thieme Chemistry was fortunate enough to be able to exhibit, once again, at the spring session of the ACS Annual Meeting. The ACS meeting was located in New Orleans and drew 15,142 people. As usual, Thieme was exhibiting its entire range of products both in print and electronic format. This biannual event is still among the most important meetings for chemists working in all areas of chemistry with attendees from both industry and academia.
Due to the huge size of this event both Alex Williams and Thomas Krimmer were able to give presentations to many potential customers. All of our electronic products were on display but many enquiries demonstrated a particular interest in Science of Synthesis and Pharmaceutical Substances. Fiona Shortt de Hernandez also took the opportunity to give a lecture to approximately fifty members of the chemical information community at this auspicious event. This occasion provided us with an opportunity to meet and discuss our program with both prospective customers and our contributors. On Monday evening Thieme hosted a dinner for 20 of our editors and authors, which took place in Arnaud’s restaurant in the French Quarter.
f.l.t.r.: Maria de Graca H. Vincente (Vol. 17 author), Kevin Smith (Vol. 17 author), Fiona Shortt de Hernandez (Managing Editor), Don Matteson (Vol. 6 Volume Editor), Vic Cesare (Vol. 21 author), and Leigh Murray (Production Coordinator). |
