How do I perform a search within the Electronic Backfile?

1. Decide on and locate your target molecule (or class of compounds), using any of the following:

• the Table of Contents
• Quick Search/Advanced Search
• Structure Templates

This will take you to a title within the Table of Contents.

1. Decide on a possible method for synthesis of your target molecule (or class of compounds) and from your current position within the Table of Contents move through the hierarchical system to locate the precise document within Houben–Weyl.
2. Click on the title to view the pdf document. Browse through the hits using the video buttons or through the Table of Contents using the book mode. Alternatively, browse through the pdf document using the Pages tab.
