Online Interface

The electronic version of Pharmaceutical Substances provides the user with a web-based portal that is easy to navigate and utilizes standard browser technology. The interface allows the user to search Pharmaceutical Substances, via an intuitive graphical interface, for both final structures and important reaction intermediates in the synthetic schemes. The structure editor supports both full structure and substructure searching.

The quick search field in the left-hand frame allows a full text search of Pharmacetical Substances to be carried out at any time. In addition to this, the new Advanced Search interface provides an even greater selection of searching possibilities. By combining both text and structure searches retrieving relevant information is made fast and straightforward.

Users can search Pharmaceutical Substances using a variety of arguments including: full text, chemical name, ATC code, Einecs number, INN, text from references, compound formula, CAS-RN, use, trade name, trade vendor, class and enzyme. The electronic version of Pharmaceutical Substances also offers significant enhancements in the form of cross linking windows, which allow the reader to quickly move between references pertaining to related compounds or classes of compounds.

When a text search is carried out the hit term is highlighted within a hit document to allow pinpointing of relevant information and the display of the data has also been reorganized, making it clearer and more user friendy.

The electronic product is designed to substantially reduce the time required for searching for information, allowing more time for actual experimentation.
