Structure Search Options

The Structure Search options are located above the search window in the Advanced Search interface.

Three types of Structure Searches can be carried out as outlined below:

• Substructure Search locates all molecules containing the substructure drawn.
• Structure Exact Search finds only molecules with the exact structure drawn.
• Reaction Search allows the specification of reactants and/or products within a reaction scheme, and finds all molecules with the substructure drawn.

The program automatically activates or deactivates the types of search that can be carried out according to the structure that has been drawn in the Draw Window.

When an arrow has been included in the drawing the Reaction Search is selected and when the drawing contains no arrows, then the Reaction Search is inactive, and the user can choose between Substructure Search or Structure Exact Search.
